I am currently thinking about leaving ICU nursing after 20 years and going to Long Term Vent management unit. The money is awesome and I can not turn it down but I am worried about what I am getting myself into. Has anyone out there done long term vent mangement at facilities like Select Specialty or Cornerstone. How difficult is it to manage 5 ventilator patients with trachs probably feeding tubes with only the help of a CNA. Is it worth the money they are promising?
