RN to Rad Tech options

I did a search, and saw a few threads on Rad Techs that went back to school to become an RN. Maybe I am using the wrong search words, but I was wondering if anyone went from RN to Rad Tech.

I'm currently a Nursing student. I can't really see myself doing this for too long (if at all). If I wanted to become a Rad Tech, would I need to take a typical 2 year Associate or Certificate program? I did a search online, and saw a mention of 1 year accelerated program for RN to Rad Tech, but couldn't find any school's or websites to provide any more information.

I'm trying to decided if I should quit NS now and start the Rad Tech program. But if there really are 1 year accelerated programs, it would be faster to finish up my ADN and then apply for such a program.

Can I ask, what is it that you are seeing in school that makes you rethink this career? I have been going back and forth about starting nursing and Im not sure I will be happy either. Something keeps bringing me back to this point though.....Please share

Here in AZ there are several RT programs, Gateway in my opinion being the best. Now with that said they do have a painful 3-4 year waiting list. The program is an associates degree program. I would imagine if your already in nursing school that you would have your pre-reqs completed for Gateway's RT program. I started out being number 510 I believe and now I am 409 and it seems like I will be waiting forever. My ultimate goal is to go into ultrasound so I looked into nursing as another option of getting there but there is just too much red tape for me and the waitlist by the time I finish my pre-reqs will be just as long as the RT list. Anywho I don't believe they have an accerlerated program but I could be wrong. If you have any questions just pm me.
