RN-CMA??? Where should I start?????? HELP ME

I am enrolled in a CMA course, but I dont know if I'm wasting my time. The course is free to me, but I wanna be an RN down the road. I have a child to support, So I could work as a CMA while I go to school, or I could start my RN classes now and be done sooner. Am I wasting my time? What would you do??
