Pre-Nursing program '?'

I just recently went and enrolled myself to do a pre-nursing program. I have prereqs to complete (of course). The program takes about 2 years, but overall with the prereqs it might take up to 3 years. After I graduate and take the test will I be able to just get a job as an RN? To me, it seems to good to be true. I know some people who are doing the transfer to RN program like myself, and I know it's going to to take them more than just 3 years. (note: I'm doing full-time). Could someone tell me if this is really how it works? Or is there a catch?

Re: Pre-Nursing program '?'

is the program a BSN or ADN? if so, yup you can be an RN. the catch? you have to get into the program, pass it, then pass the NCLEX.

good luck

Re: Pre-Nursing program '?'

Your school should be able to answer this question for you. My school has 1-2 years of prerequisites then applications to the Associates degree RN program. After that, you can get advanced placement into a University for the BSN-RN and MN-RN programs.

Re: Pre-Nursing program '?'

My school is the same. A few pre-reqs pass the pre-nln test. Get into program ect. It is also an AS; they have it mapped as if everything is passed and you get in right away as a fulltime student you could be finished in 2 years. The catch is usually rating high enough to get into the program and passing everything. Good Luck

Re: Pre-Nursing program '?'

I have a 4 yr degree already. Is it best to take pre reqs or just apply to a pre nursing program and hope to get into the Nursing progran?

What do you suggest? Where I am at, ther are 2 schools that offer pre reqs and one of them have waiting lists for their A&P courses
