new RN grad- ICU?

I just graduated from nursing school do you think it is wise of me to start out on an ICU floor opposed to med-surd. If so what are the advantages of working on an ICU floor

Re: new RN grad- ICU?

Are you interested in critical care? The advantage would be going for what interests you. If you don't like med-surg, then don't waste your time. Look for a ICU that accepts and is supportive of new grads, and has appropriate education and orientation.

Good luck.
