new grad needs advice

Hi all,

I have just graduated in May with my ADN. I have been job hunting but have not received any invites to interview.
Here is my dilemma. I worked as an aide for a year and a half on a cardiac floor per diem. I gave my two weeks notice this past February to concentrate on school. I wrote a really nice resignation letter and gave it to the first shift supervisor as the DON was out of the office that week.
I enjoyed my job and worked well with the patients and staff. I never had any complaints against me or had never been written up. In other words, I left on good terms.
I have applied at this same hospital for 3 different positions and have not been contacted to come in for an interview. I thought (maybe foolishly) that I would at least get an interview seeing as how I was familiar with this hospital and had had a medsurge clinical there. I have left a message at HR (can never get to talk to a real person) explaining how I had been an aide at the hospital and really enjoyed working there.
After giving my notice I received correspondence from the hospital as if I was still an employee. I thought that the departments had not caught up with one another in the fact that I was no longer an employee there. I am now wondering if the reason I have never been called for an inteview is that my resignation letter never reached the right hands and HR may now think I quit without giving a notice. Should I go to HR in person and ask to see my file to make sure my resignation letter was submitted? I don't want to be pushy but this may effect future job opportunities for me.
I may sound a little paranoid but this hospital has fowled up paperwork with me before. I applied for an extern position last summer on the medsurge floor and did not get the position because that particular floor could not accomodate an extern because they had hired 6 new grads. By the time I found this out it was too late to send my application in to another department for another extern position. The woman running the program was very apologetic and I just wrote it off as a fluke. But now, with that history, I wonder if there was another foul up with my resignation paper.
What do you ladies and gents think?

Thanks for reading.

H....

Re: new grad needs advice

I would go over to the hospital in person and talk to HR. Good luck.
