med. surg and surg tech. what's the difference?

i know that's a silly question considered i am a nursing student i every times i heard people said the names it makes me wonder, aren't they the same thing? no

No, med-surg is a department within the hospital were general medical and surgical pts go when admitted. Nurses can work in med-surg. A surgical tech is a position in the OR. They help place instruments for the surgeons and are not nurses.
