Question How much of a paycut when switching from one area to another?

I've been an RN for almost 8 years, all of it spent in renal dialysis. While I love dialysis, I've been restless to try other areas of nursing too. I've been offered a position in ER, but with a $2.20/hr cut from what I'm currently getting. Is it a small price to pay for gaining new experience? And it hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be to get into another area of nursing either, despite the "shortage." Should I just go for it?
