I dont think there is anything wrong with taking your prerequisites at a junior college. If your goal is a BSN then you can take the prereq's at the JC and transfer to the state university. If you are in California by the way, the the CSU's and UC's are getting harder and harder to get into. You can always start at a JC, do the prereq's and then apply for the 2 year programs and then move on to a BSN. Either way, not getting into a 4 year university is not going to harm your career.
