Jean, I feel your pain. I am finally coming off the same experience.
New Grad. Will work for pay!!!
And when I saw my student loans coming due, and my bank account becoming smaller, and finding myself unable to remember my pathophysiology, I chose to look outside of my famliarity, and apply out of state.
I was recently hired and am relocating to an area that has a desire and a need for BSN's as they typically have an abundance of ADNs. Talk about pressure?! LOL. But I'm excited too, because it's in the unit I've been wanting and applying for all over to no avail.
I found myself applying for things I didn't want, just for the income and still not getting responses. Emails not replied to, phone calls not returned, in-person visits for nothing...Jean I know what you are going through.
An earlier poster here said one area may have a shortage where another does not. Apparently my town is saturated. At least until the next wave of interns are hired, and my creditors aren't going to wait for that!!
Spread your wings Jean. It takes some investigative work, but you'll find what you're looking for!
Good Luck
Chloe
