Lightbulb Career Advise Regarding Retirement Options

Hello everyone, I am 30 years old, single, have a house, car, dog and great career. On November 23, I will complete the associate RN program. I am interested in nursing, that's my passion, critical care, emergency, etc. I have several opportunites to pursue a full time 20ish week internship in critical care after graduation. For the past 7 years, I have been a deputy in a Sheriff's Office. This offers a GREAT retirement after 25 years of service and 48 years old. Within weeks I should be reassigned to the patrol section, actually working the street. In this area of Ohio there are no PERS retirements offered at hospitals (which is where I'd prefer to work). So I was just wondering if anyone had any comments on this matter. I'm really torn, this would be the highlight of my law enforcement career, but I can only do it FULL TIME. And nursing in my eyes, IS MY CAREER! Which I must do full time, at least right now. I believe that I'll be happy on the street, but this job is way easier (most days) than any day I've ever spent in the ICU and most days in a busy ER. Thanks AJ
