California license endorsed to NY

I applied for reciprocity for my California license to to be endorsed to NY, but is my California license still active even though it's been endorsed to NY? I have a complicated problem regarding my license verification in NY and I'm still waiting after 4 months before I get my NY license. What I'm planning to do is work in California instead since I'm still waiting for a notice from New York State Education. Can I still work in California?

Best to check with CA to find out when your license expires. Are you an RN or LVN?
