I am currently an Early Placement Student at my local community college.
-Which means that I am attending college while still being in high school. I'm a high school senior, graduating this JUNE!
I was looking over the pre-requisites for U Maryland Nursing Program and realized that I could finish all of the pre-req.s in 3 semesters
[1.5 years]... with around 11 credit load (which isn't even full time)...
-I have completed (or in the process of completing)...- General Psyc, Statistics, En101, Intro to Sociology, Intro to Speech, Health requirement. 9 humanities credits and 1 elective credit.
- This summer: En102, En109, Intro to Abnormal Psyc., Human Growth and Dev.
-Need:- Bio107, Ch101, A&P 1, A&P 2, MicroBio, Nutrition, Pre-cal, Art*(Need to get a degree at the cc)
I saw that if I go the 4 semesters [2 years] at my community college I can have a Business Associates Degree instead of the General Studies Associates.
My goal is to go into a masters program, after getting my BSN and working a couple years, to become a NP or CRNA.
Option 1: 2 years at a cc, come out with a Business Associates then tranfer to a BSN program.
4 years
Option 2: 3 semesters at a cc, come out with a General Studies Associates then transfer to a BSN program.
3.5 years
Is it worth going the extra semester?
(Though it isn't really extra since I would be early)
