Applying for Charge nurse position

I am in the process of applying for a charge nurse position on the floor I currently work on. I have had interview with nurse recruiter, nurse manager and assistant manager. Next comes interview with peers.

I have been charge nurse in other hospitals and have never had to do interviews with peers. A little background about floor, it is a med surg floor with 22-23 beds, I have worked at this hospital for a little over a year on both 7p-7a and 7a-7p shift, so I feel like I know a lot about issues on both shifts.

What I would like is some input on what other nurses look for in their charge nurse and also if anyone has had peer interview what is usually asked.

Thanks in advance for any and all information.

Re: Applying for Charge nurse position

Sounds like touchy-feely bullsqueeze to me.

Managers manage. Period.

The "peer-interview" crud makes the position more of a popularity contest than a supervisory role.
