Thumbs up ADVICE FROM RNs

Iam begining my prereqs starting with math. I like math but It takes me longer to get it, i have math anxiety especially getting into algebra, fearful of chemistry, anyway there is about a 2 year waiting list after I get my prereqs done for our RN program. should I take a cna class now and get all the experience I can,or really.. concentrate on really getting my math and sciences down. and wait to take the cna class as I Wait 2 years for my name to come up.?. I know it seems like a stupid question, but iam suppose to start the cna class in a couple of days and my math also. any advice?

Do the math course. You need to get through the math anxiety. Math is also used in chemistry and in drug calculations, so you really need to feel comfortable. CNA stuff can wait. When new nurses graduate, many of them have not had any CNA experience and they do just fine. New grad nurses are typically trained with mentors in 6 week to 6 month programs (depending on the specialty or hospital setting) so you won't be on your own when you first start your RN job. Good luck!
