With the shortage of vaccine and more uninsured I am concerned many will go to the emergency department with the flu.

What is your facility doing to prepare?

All the residents were vaccinated, and the vaccine was offered to all employees. From what I hear, that is not the case in most places. I feel very fortunate to have received the vaccine. And I was VERY brave when I got it too.

Not anything different than last year as far as I know.

Last year the hospitals in the area pushed for people to stay home. If you thing you have the flu dont bring it here unless your not getting any better or have developed something else. We dont want you giving it to our other patients who shouldnt get sick. It its the flu there is not alot we will do for your but tell you to go home, take tylenol, stay in bed, get plenty of non-caffinated fluids and disinfect your home once you are better.
Now having said that we treat alot of cancer and transplant patients so we did see alot of them with the flu.
