Scopolamine IV. Why not?

Hi! I've never posted before. I hope I'm doing this right. I have a question. At the hospice where I work we are not allowed to give Scopolamine IV. I can't find anything in the literature to support this practice. In fact, it is one route mentioned at all of the web sites I've checked. Anybody have any ideas about the reasoning behind this?

Re: Scopolamine IV. Why not?

I would ask a pharmacist. We use IV robinul, and scop. patch.
