What are your requirements on physicians signature legibility? Are there state laws requiring them to print their names below their signatures? Or hospital policies? Our committee is trying to get our hospital to start requiring physicians to do this, can't find anything on the internet. Thanks

We were able to get our Chief of Staff to participate in the commitee meetings and approve a policy which requires not only legible signatures, but pager numbers as well. We had better luck with the pagers than the signatures at first, but after the Docs got tired of being paged by nurses who just wanted to know who they were, they improved pretty quickly! Good luck!
