Hep C testing is done by most employers when the person goes for their physical. You got to be honest about it and tell them. We have a couple nurses who work on my unit who have Hep and they have no limitations on their care. Universal precautions are just that....universal.
I've never worked at any place that required employees to submit to Hep C testing. However, I've worked with quite a few highly competent people over the years who freely admit to being positive for HBV or HCV.
