Question Minor Ed/cobra

In the minor ED I work in the clerks ask for ability to pay and nsurance info prior to being seen by the triage nurse. This does delay care......

I am aware that triage is NOT a medical screening and I know that the patients should be seen by a triage nurse prior to giving insurance info. (
I am anal and have been an ED nurse quite sometime. Anyway, the problem is when I bring this up I get boos and hissess from management and staff. What should I do? My non medical friends say just don't worry about it. Any suggestions?
