I live & work in South Africa , & am currently looking for ideas to do a masters thesis on . I had thought on doing it on "The safety of patients whilst evacuating an ICU during an emergency situation."
What evacuation plans are set in your hospitals ? Do you think that they would work ? , and why do you think that they would work .
Any ideas you might have would be much appreciated .

I work in a small(80 bed)hospital. We have a 6 bed ICU unit. In the past two years, we have twice evacuated the entire building due to bomb threats. We have the convenience of having 5 nursing homes in our town that we transported to. We have had no ventilator patients with either evacuation.
