As clinical educator for 4 pediatric inpatient units, I have been asked my opinion as to whether heparin drip patients should be adlitted onto our general peds units. My first response is "NO". However, in keeping with evidnced based practice, I am wanting to research the idea. Do you currently accept heparin drip patients on your inpatient units? If so, what kind of staffing ratios? WHat are the monitoring parameters? If no, why?
