Exclamation compazine push

As a rn in a large metro hospital med-surg unit I came upon an order to push compazine 10 mg . The 22 yo pt had a CVL& I'd never pushed this drug in my short practice. I called pharmacy who put me on hold for 10 min. then disconnected me.SO I asked a passing younger MD,said he didn't know. An older MD said he wouldn't do it,so I didn't.Drug book no help. Anyone know the guide lines for this drug? THANKS PLK

Compazine can be given IV push at a dose of 2.5 to 10mg and a rate not to exceed 5 mg per minute, and up to 40mg a day.
