biohazard

I work in long term care and have an infection control issue. My administrator wants to put our refridgerator with the specimens we send to the hospital(ie-urine, sputum) in the biohazard room. This room has the red bag for contaminated dressings, a regular trash can, bathroom hopper, and a freezer for putting over flow biohazard infectious stuff until our rep comes and picks it up. I know with working other places this is usually kept in the medication room. We are getting a new pyxisis system that is taking up too much space and we are looking at alternatives. I have my thoughts on this one, but thought I would ask.

Comments/Suggestions. TIA.
