I am working on a project and using APA style. The direction my paper has taken needs to have several references to time used. If I choose to use 24 hour time, what is the ruling on APA formatting for that? I have gotten several responses yet no definitive ruling. Hopefully someone has written a professional manuscript and can help.
APA does not address military vs regular time. Look at 3.42 a. all numbers 10 and above, use numerals.
3.42 e "numbers that represent time; dates; ages; ... and numerals as numerals" ie: 1 hour 34 min

So, if your school doesn't have an APA contact (mine does), use numerals, just as 12:30 is used, 1230, or 0030, would be my guess. I would preface the first instance of use "(this paper will use military time)".
