I saw a new "pill" that is being tested for weight loss while reading the BBC on line today. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6252720.stm

The article says that it is made from cellulose. It makes sense, in a way, to keep you feeling full, but I wonder about a bowel obstruction, or some such. What do you all think?

No kidding...

The tiny pill is powdery when dry but when swallowed with a glass of water turns to a jelly-like ball in the stomach.

Ew.

I lost weight the old fashioned way... Exercise, lots of water, cut out fats and refined sugars. But I'd rather be overweight than in the hospital with a busted gut.

This would be something you need to discuss with your PCP. One should never consider starting a medication, prescribed or OTC, without first getting the opinion/advice of their PCP.
