Working in a Hospital w/o any prev. medical background?

Okay, I moved this question b/c I think I put it in the wrong place... I am about to start school this summer for nursing- I'm spreading out my pre-reqs since I need to keep a full time job (at least for now) I'm content at my current job but there are 2 hospitals in the area that after being employed for 90 days I'd be eligible for tuition reimbursement. I'm having a hard time getting answers to this question- What are some positions at most hospitals that do not require any medical training or courses. I currently hold an administrative position and am very good with computers/typing/clerical work. Many jobs I've been able to find at hospitals require these skills but also require some sort of medical terminology course or something like that. I guess I'm jsut wondering what might be available to someone like me who has no previous experience in the medical field- only clerical/administrative type work? Any info. would be great! Thanks for your help!

Re: Working in a Hospital w/o any prev. medical background?

I'm not sure if this is the kind of job you were looking for...but many job options exist...cafeteria cashier, nutritional services, housekeeping, sterile processing, supply and equipment, gift shop, info desk, admitting, scheduling, operator/switchboard, etc.

Otherwise you could try to get a clerical job, office manager, receptionist, medical records, transcriptionist, human resources etc.
and see if they are willing to take you without the medical terminology class. They might if you have enough experience with bookeeping, filing, customer service, typing, etc.

Hope that helps.
Good luck with your job search!
