Re: Why is nursing considered a sexy career?

I think it boils down to two words: Sponge bath.

I don't really know. We deal with puke, blood, mucus and poo and none of those things are sexy, unless you're in to the kinky stuff.

My ex-boyfriend would refuse to come near me when I came over to his place after work, still wearing my scrubs. I worked in Ambulatory Surgery...not really that gross at all, but I digress...
Last night I went out with a bunch of fellow nurses, and a good number of the 7a-7p'rs came straight from work wearing their scrubs. The dudes were tripping over their tongues. I don't get it. I'd like to say it's because, as health care professionals, we are educated, indepedent, smart, healthy, polite, caring, dedicated individuals, but somehow I think "handmaiden" may play more into it.

Do you think that allpolice.com and allfirefighters.com web sites have a similar thread?

It could be the uniform. The "fantasy/sexy" nurse is not wearing scrubs.

Re: Why is nursing considered a sexy career?

Is it really the profession, or is it the fact that the profession has a disproportionate number of women in the 20-29yo age range?

Because I don't think nurses are hot. But I do think that hot nurses are hot.

There's always some hospital smell that gets stuck, and I certainly do NOT find that sexy, nor do the people around me.
