Why do you come to All Nurses?

Why do you come to All Nurses? is it for the information? the camraderie? to waste time? the jokes? relaxation? What reasons?

I come for the info and to get a feel for what the different fields are like. I also love the friendships that I have made here. This is my relaxation time (the only time I get) and I can learn something to boot!

It's my television. Something for my recreation, yet not an addiction.

I'm with you there Marie. I don't ever watch TV anymore. I'd rather be here chatting with friends and I learn so much more here than I ever could on TV!

I love the funny stories -- but it seems only ER nurses tell funny stories. I'm an ICU nurse, and their forums are boring!

Count me in !!!

Never was a TV watcher, and there's nothing but crap on anymore anyway.

Will ocasionally still watch Discovery, History or Travel Channel, or Wild Kingdom.. but that's it.. as well as rare.

I'll take this over TV anyday ! Plus, instead of loud commercials blaring, I can play my own soft, relaxing music here and STILL enjoy my "tv".... heh !

Default Why do people come here?
Forget about all of that mushy stuff stated above!!
Am I the only nurse who comes here to read the heated, inflammatory, opinionated stuff from:
1. The CNA who thinks that nurses are all lazy?

2. The new graduate who thinks that they know everything and believe they are already ER and ICU nurses and don't need any more training?

3. The old crotchety nurses who want the white hats to come back?

4. The RN who thinks that LPN's are only nurse aides who can give Tylenol and put in foley catheters?

5. The BSN RN who believes that anyone with less than a BSN should be on bedpan duty only?

6. The Excelsior College vs. traditional RN school debates?

7. The testosterone filled male RN's who used to be paramedics, addicted to code blue, and only ER/Trauma/ICU are considered to be real nurses in their minds?

8. The power and attention hungry RN/LPN who loves to find med errors or other mistakes that their co-workers made in order to feel better about themselves and show the world what a great nurse they are?

This is the stuff that I like on this website.....at least I'm honest.

I come here for all the above reason listed by other posters. I like to visit this site, because I know that I can talk about things that bother me or have a question about and know that I have people who can help or just listen, without me having to get their attention out of the TV and they wont say "yes dear" just to pretend that they are paying attention
