Television does not provide the proper respect due the profession.

Over the years their have been a few actors that have done justice to the role of nurse.

My favorite is Haleh Adams as played by Yvette Freeman on ER.

Why? She has always been a strong supporter of union and has always backed her fellow nurses.

Not my favorite nurse but thought I'd mention it. I rented "The Student Nurses" from NetFlix last week. It said it was about 4 senior nursing students about to graduate, and I thought how cute, I'm a senior about to graduate. Well, it was from 1976 and had more soft core porn undertones then necessary hahahahahah guess I should have realized that.....I don't recommend it. (Unless of course you're into that kind of thing!) My Boyfriend couldn't stop laughing and wanted to know what on earth I had rented! (He suggested I pick the movies from now on!) hahahaha

I liked Carol Hathaway from ER (in the beginning of the series, before she went to med school and hooked up with Doug Ross)

I like Carla on Scrubs. There was one episode where her doctor boyfriend talked about how great it would be for her to go to nurse practitioner school, assuming it was every nurse's dream. Her response? She was very happy being "just a nurse" thank you very much. She basically said that she liked her job and was good at it, so why would she want to change things? For money or power? She stressed that there is more to life than that.

It was funny, the age-old phrase "just a nurse" kept coming up over and over again, and I KNEW that there had to be an RN on their consulting staff!

Yeah, I totally forgot about that show!! I used to love watching it. I know who you mean, she was great.
