Its been there a week....been taking Augmentin 4 days now.
Been back to the ED 2 days ago and had needle aspiration of pus (
) Got lots more out before needle track shut. Pain at the site is less, redness same, but leg proximal to infection is sore now. Docs have been reluctant to I&D, they don't think there's pus in there...wish I'd taken a picture of what I massaged outta that thing after they told me there wasn't much pus!
This all started as an innocent bug bite on my thigh.....guess it was really a saber-toothed chigger!
Anyway, do you think they'd bother to do anything different based on the only change being the proximal soreness, esp when flexing hip joint?
When would you think an I&D is indicated for dermal infection?
