What would they do today??

Our historic leaders--Nightengale, Barton, et al--are portrayed as brave and courageous women who really got things done for their patients and their profession.

If any one of them were alive today, given a modern scenario, what do you think they'd be doing?

LEAVE in DISGUST!!!! rofl nah, really, I think they would be serious advocates for returning nursing to its roots a bit more and letting NURSES do NURSING....not everything else we have inherited, keeping us away from the bedside more and more. Just my uneducated guess....

They'd probably be having extensive bladder suspension procedures done.

They'd be with the rest of us... frustrated over redundant documentation that is needed to cover ones... that also takes time away from doing the actual patient care... Somebody has to come up with a more efficient system for documentation?

They probably would have been fired long ago by the suits since their true patient advocacy would have gotten in the way of "cost effective" care.
