I just thought it would be interesting to see what schools everyone attended for nursing. This is open to everyone all the way from hospitals that grant diplomas in nursing to large universities that issue Ph.D's. Also, would you recommend your school to prospective nurses? And lastly what is your fondest memory while pursuing your nursing education?

I graduated from East Tennessee State University with my BSN.
I would recommend my school; it is a very good school with good professors. It focuses on community health nursing, and its a state school so it less expensive than some of the other nursing schools in the East TN area. I just wish I could go back there for my FNP, but the its not in the Navy's lists of schools for the DUINS program. ETSU has LPN-BSN, RN-BSN, BSN, MSN (several different np tracks), and PhD.
My fondest memory was either when I got my acceptance paper to nursing school or the day I graduated! Ok...it was my graduation day!!!

I went to Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio. Yes I would recommend it to everyone. They have great instructors et an all around good program. It is a community college so does not cost as

My fondest memory is graduation. We took our school uniforms (which were hideous) et cut them into tiny pieces of confetti et threw them up at graduation like you would your graduation hat. We had little poppers et set them off. It was an awesome feeling knowing that we were finally finished. It was a long et hard road but well worth it!!:hatparty:

I went to Community College of Allegheny county in Pennsylvania for my Associate degree. I would recommend this program, it has done well for my 15 year career.

I went to Community College of Rhode Island,& had great instructors!!! I plan on attending Curry College for my BSN...just waiting to hear if i'm accepted or not.....

Ok time for me to *groan* showing ones age again LOL
I come from the days of train in a hospital and learn as you are working days! Also had a wage with that so I would not complain.
I still to this day think that working and learning in a hospital with college back up would still work. My thoughts entirely.
Yes I loved my training way back in the 70's and would not change a thing.
Like anything you gain your experience and knowledge through working in different areas of nursing.
30 year RN this year and still love my job so very much.

I attended Gulf Coast Comm. College in Panama City, FL. That was back in the early 90's. I hope they have improved. I would have given them a 4 out of 10. It was almost self-instructional. I did learn enough to pass NCLEX as did all but one of our graduating class, but that's all I can say.

I love the other sections of the College, the NON-nursing dept areas. In fact, other than the nursing dept. I consider this College quite exceptional.

I went to Polk Community College in Winter Haven, Fl. back in the mid. 80's. (yes I am getting old) I was a LPN at the time, worked full time nights, went to college full time days, had a 5 year old son and a useless husband. But I did it and boy was it worth it!!! I do love my job. It does have it's times I would love to throw in the towel but for the most part I like going to work.

I really don't remember much of my college days but they did help me get funding when I needed it. I did HATE having to wear that dreaded white cap to clinical s.
