Were you in nursing club?

by RNmom08

Just curious if you were in nursing club when you were in school. Our schools nursing club has been inactive for quite some time and I'd like to get it active again. I am looking for some ideas for activites that would be new for us to do and get some people interested. Any ideas would be wonderful. ThankS!

I was the president of our Nursing club and we had a lot of fun. We did career days with employers around the area coming in to talk to us. We also did blood pressure checks on campus and set up HIV testing as well. We also did information session about our program and helped out people who were interested in getting in. Also we went to high schools to talk about nursing school to promote our program. Hope that helps!

Nursing clubs can do alot of fundraisers to benefit the class as a whole, such as raising money for the Pinning ceremony (huge variance in what is spent by school), or something for the lab that your school doesn't think necessary but you do, such as a lab supply kit for each student to take home.

We used to do collection drives each winter for the local nursing homes: slippers, scarves, lap robes, shawls (both raising money and actual items) and they were much-appreciated holiday gifts.
