Types of IV lines

by ghost

Need some clarification

1. There are "peripheral" IV lines we start...called "INT"...what exactly does "INT" stand for?

2. The only types of lines RNs cannot do are Femoral TLCs; the external and internal jugular right; and any "central" lines going into the vena cava?

3. What is the difference between the preparation of insertion of external vs internal vs vena cava lines?

I heard that the external is just like a peripheral line (no need for gown, sterile gloves, mask, central line kit) versus the internal jugular?

4. Any other types of IV lines that I missed?

Thank!!!!!!
