Hey, i'm currently a junior working on my BSN and I would like to know how much hospitals will reimbursement or help my, if they do at all.

Unless you already work there, most don't. And if you find one that does, be careful - hiring bonuses, tuition reimbursement, etc. are often the sign of a desperate hospital (and an unpleasant place to work). Been there, done that.

Depends on your location. In high-shortage areas, hiring bonuses (for tuition or whatever) are commonplace EVERYWHERE. With additional commitment on your part (commit to work there for a period of time) they cough up even MORE money.

Just because they offer tuition reimbursement it doesn't mean the place is any more desparate than anywhere else. Don't mean to shoot you down, Bill, but where I live (in the south), it's around $2-5K just to sign, up to $10K for a tuition plus time deal. And it's cheap to live here, too.

No sign on bonuses here, however the hospital does offer tuition reimbursement for their employees. (They will reimburse 1/2 of your tuition at the end of the semester, up to $1500/year.) No contract to sign, either. If you quit within one year of the reimbursement, you have to pay back 1/2 of what the hospital reimbursed you.

They also have a RN forgiveness loan. They will pay for the tuition upfront; when you are done with school and pass boards, you start to have your loan "forgiven." For every hour that you work at the hospital, $1 of your loan is forgiven. There is no minimum amt of hours to work, nor do you have to sign the next X amt of years of your career over to them.

If you decide to leave the hospital before the tuition is forgiven, you must pay them the balance of the loan.

My workplace offers current employees tuition reimbursement of $1,000 per year.

How do you all go about researching Tuition Reimbursement? I would love to find out what it is in certain areas but it seems almost impossible to search hospital to hospital.
