Travel Nursing

When a nurse does travel nursing, is their living expenses paid? Also, how long is a typical assignment?

You need to check out the travel nurse forum. You will get lots of good info there. As above, most assignments are 13 weeks. You will receive a housing allowance or paid housing, whatever suits your needs. I travel with a husband and dogs, so we get a stipend and find our own housing, but I have also taken housing paid by the company. They usually pay the rent plus utilities up to a certain amount. You are not responsible for deposit on the apartment, but you will on phone. Usually there is a travel allowance as well. Completion bonuses are variable and not always available, but it never hurts to ask. Call several travel companies or check them out on line first and get some ideas about what is included. I'll be glad to tell you about RN Network if you want to e mail me at nursemom@rocketmail.com

I think they are the best, but we all have different opinions.

If my wife ever kicks me out or she kicks off, I figure travel nursing as the way to go in life.
