They can put a man on the moon. Why Can't They....

To me, it would seem that they could improve the quality of life for the Inpatient in so many ways. I think if they could put a man on the moon, surely they could....

* Invent a smaller K pill?

* Invent a tastier po K elixir

* Invent a "burnless" K rider

* Find an easier-to-take bowel prep than GoLytely

What are some of your ideas?

I have been threatened with having my eyes scratched out, my legs cut off and my hair pulled. And of course the standard of having potassium spit on you, or that one little chunk plucked and neatly placed on your forearm as you are trying to offer the next dose of crushed meds.
Why dont we just invent humans that dont need that crap?

My daughter had to debate this issue in her Driver's Ed class the other day (don't ask me why). She was infuriated that people believe in conspiracy theories and proceeded to do her side of the debate for me.

She is a smart cookie.

I'm with that, but wish to add:

Invent a painless and more accurate Mammogram...oh wait they have that, but its called ultrasound, and insurance won't cover it/MDs won't order it.

And you have a patient come in with abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting...so they order a CT scan with oral contrast...that the patient vomits up...no. ya think.

My mammograms don't hurt at all .. .one side benefit of breastfeeding four kids and having NO density left in the old milk-makers.

I'm due for a mammogram too . . put it off for 3 years due to breastfeeding my son. sigh . . .

January is pap/pelvic and mammogram month for me.

surely they could
Allow people to have easier access to pain medication instead of having to beg for it or having to resort to saying, "Well I'll just deal with it and suffer".

Devise a schedule so that Nurses can receive their breaks and lunches that they are entitled to.

For me too, steph. I hate the old mammo squeeze machines.

If they can send a man to the moon, then why can't they....

....change the way healthcare is today?
