Question? - Tamiflu and pregnancy?

Do any of you know anyone that has taken tamiflu during pregnancy, and have they had any problems. According to the drug company, as well as my drug guides I have here it is not recommended. The website says: TAMIFLU is normally not recommended for use during pregnancy or nursing, as the effects on the unborn child or nursing infant are unknown. My aunt is 3 months pregnant and has the flu and her PCP (not OB) prescribed tamiflu, and she is planning to take it even though I have told her all the above, and advised her to talk to her ob before taking. Also, one of our docs is pregnant and had the flu, and she wouldn't take the drug for the above reasons. I'm just a little concerned about it. Any opinions?

Re: Tamiflu and pregnancy?

Your Aunt definitely needs to consult her OB.

Please advise her to do so. We cannot provide any medical advice for you.

We hope all works out.......
