silly resume ?... certifications

I'm updating my resume and I'm working on the section for licensure/certifications. I'm listing my CPR & ACLS courses and I put the date I took the course/got certified (not when the cert expires, right)?

Also, for my RN license, I put "RN license #5555555" - should I list the date of my original licensure in that state, most recent renewal date, or the expiration date listed.

Any help is appreciated... I think my brain's fried from a busy week at work... thanks

I usually put expiration date on all my certs.....who cares when you got them, they just want to know when you need to recert.

When I was looking at it, I thought that potential employees might think I needed to re-cert when I was current... thanks for confirming

Re: silly resume ?... certifications

Hi Sun Chica!

As an FYI, side note...I recently learned (from an allnurses member's post) that most Rn's no longer put their license # on their resumes....d/t ID theft and nurse imposters. I verified this by looking through 3 books on nurse resumes in a library near my home.

Guess just putting RN & yr obtained means you're licensed...then when you fill out the application they'll ask for license #.

My state recently decided not to send out paper licenses to protect against imposters. Employers just look up the license on the BON website.

Good luck!

Do Not include your license number When you get a job you can give it to them then.
