Scrub tops for men

My boyfriend insisted me to ask for your help. He is about to start his first nursing job and wants feedback regarding scrubs tops and pockets. He wants to have 2 pockets on the top instead of the single breast pocket. He likes the fit of the dickie scrubs, but on the website, the plain vneck top w/ 2 pockets is not indicated as unisex nor as female only. Do male nurses wear 2 pocket scrubs tops? Has anyone ever seen men in hospitals actually wear it?

I think most scrubs are unisex...most arent that flattering for any one! Ive seen some that are obviously women if they have a flare leg or a tie in the back of the top, but if its just a basic scrub it should be ok.

Are you talking about the tops with the two pockets at the bottom, next to the hem? If you are, I've never seen a man wear those. Now if he doesn't care if they're unisex or not, I'd say go for what's comfortable. But if he's worried about it being too feminine then he should skip that and wear scrub pants with cargo pockets. They'll hold a lot. Some of the EMS pants are really nice too. Not only do they have cargo pockets along the lateral thigh, they also have pockets along the lateral calf.

My wife designs and makes mine, she knows what I like and she makes them so much better.

Re: Scrub tops for men

I love lots of pockets!! Landeau makes a men's 5 pocket scrub top and a 7 pocket cargo pant, and they have become the only scrubs I wear. I hate having to run to the supply room for stuff, so I carry tape, flushes, dressings, scissors, and a multitude of other stuff with me so that I'm pretty much prepared for anything I need at the bedside.

They're maybe a bit more expensive than some other brands, but I wouldn't wear anything else.
