Recommend Books on Nursing

Well, my fav book on nursing is obvious (see username ). Aside from Nursing Against the Odds, what other books would you recommend? I'm talking books about nursing and nurses, perhaps even those with career advice for certain baby nurses

My fave are the books written by Echo Heron. I just wanted to read real nurse stuff by a nurse and she was the best choice.
I also really enjoyed Chicken Soup for the Nurse but just read that on a B&N Starbucks coffee break in the bookstore

Nurse's Story by Carol Gino is also excellent.
And Rusty's Story by the same author.

A Nurse's Story, by Tilda Shalof.

She talks about starting as an ICU nurse and learning along the way. I'm an ICU nurse, and I devoured this book in two days, it was so good. I couldn't put it down!

She also has a new book out that I haven't read yet. It had good reviews.

Thumbs up Re: Recommend Books on Nursing

Actually, I found out about some of these by searching nursing, or nurse into Amazon and all these great books popped up and I have them all!
I am also addicted to audio CD and am praying to have these coming out on CDs!
A Nurse's Story, by Tilda Shalof is very interesting for me, the fact that she (the author) is practicing in a different health system (Ontario, Canada), and that all her stories and comments relates to what we share in my ICU, she is like that little voice in my head and my fellow RN's, you know the things we talk about in private. Her book is amazing to me.
Tilda Shalof will have a new book out this month (June 07) if I am not mistaken. May be I should e-mail her asking for a audio CD version?!!!
I encourage all nurses to write a book about their everyday nursing, specially regarding the ethical and social aspect of it.
If you write one, let me know, I will be your first buyer!

PS: My prayers for wireless EKG leads are answered, thank the Lord!
How long will it take my company to buy these!Hee! Hee! I will be retired by then, probably at the same time the disposable BP cuffs and rooms sanitation will come by! Constant battle I should start writing my own book!
