I was laughing reading it. It is just funny. We all need a sence of humor in any profession, I did not see this as anything but a joke.

I commenced nursing 38 years ago, guess that makes me "experienced".

I related to much of what was written and think it's hilarious!
Don't think that makes me any less of a nurse/professional/caring etc. Also don't think it makes me lazy either.

I respect your opinion and your right to that opinion.

I wish you many happy years in nursing.

Though not outraged, nor appalled or anything like that, I thought most of the "jokes" were in poor taste and simply not funny... and I think I've got a fab sense of humor.

There are also several bad digs at the profession in there.

Just not my style.

I also think it's funny. And some of it is true, which is why it's funny. And maybe I'm warped, but I don't see anything wrong with it, even the parts that I think are true. Made me laugh, and that helps me survive and keep going back. And that's the key, to keep going back. Back for another shift, back for more of the same. But going back again and again.

This form of humor is ancient and is in every walk of life, every occupation. Sorry it offended you.

I personally thought it was very funny. I graduate in December and the part about a graduate nurse wearing dozens of pins and an experienced nurse not wearing them had me dying laughing!! I totally saw myself in this, as I am perusing all kinds of websites right now looking for any and every RN pin!!

I,too, think you have to be in the nursing field to even get the jokes. You have to have seen how we nursing students/ graduate nurses run to our drug books for EVERYTHING! How we are all excited about seeing procedures and stuff. Pretty funny! I definitely saw myself in a few of the graduate nurse sayings!
Everyone has an opinion, and if u found it funny.... no harm done.... if u don't find it funny.... no harm done!

Well, I don't know what there is to get so upset about, especially considering some of it is true.
It goes to show how years as a nurse makes a person kind of jaded and cynical.

I thought it was kinda funny too. There are many more things to work up steam over. Eg. Constant short staffing is one for me....sometimes feel like i'm a Robot.

I know some people are probably offended by this but I think it's kind of funny. Sorry! I can see myself in many of these scenarios. I think we all need to be a little more lighthearted and laugh at ourselves!
