Well I have accepted a position in pysch. It is an inpatient unit with adolescents and adults. It is a very nice hospital and I was very impressed with the DON and ADON. It will be full-time days, 3 twelve hour shifts a week, every third weekend and every third holiday. The pay is good and benefits are paid for a single plan, which is what I need. My husband carries his own insurance.

I am very excited!!!

I was originally offered this position but for nights and I did not think I could do nights at my age, so I turned it down, that was back in November. Well lo and behold out of the blue I got a call on monday and offered a day position.

I met with them today to go over the particulars and every thing sounds good. I will start on the 18th of this month.

So wish me luck!!!

I pray I found my niche! Only time will tell.

Congratulations! I work Mental Health & Addictions and I absolutely love it. We have an Inpt unit, Obs unit, Adolescent unit, and Memory D/O unit. Good Luck!

Not sure why this poster decided to post this, but I really would like to find out why.

Did something happen to someone you know or where you work? If anyone knows anything about this post it would be appreciated.

I realize that workplace violence can happen anywhere. I truly feel for those who have suffered at the hands of patients. Hopefully more will be done to protect the innocent.


I will still take this new job and hope for the best!
