I have a take home test on infectiuos dieseases and the question is

You have just been appointed the Infection control liaison for the ICU where you work. What dnominator will you use for ventilator-associated pnuemonias and why?

We have learnt about HIV and SARS so far. But I think I need to think about incidence and prevalence if I am not wrong in finding out the #of people who have got ventilator associated pneumonia.
