Question about Nursing Field

Hi. I just wanted to get an idea of how far nursing reaches... I'm aware theres quite a few non-hospital nursing jobs out there... what kind of jobs can you get that are non-hospital?

Thanks very much in advance!!

i know that there are private offices that you could work at, as well as clinics. but those are just hospitals on a smaller scale (but at least they smell better and are in locations closer to more fast food places for lunch....j/k).

There are psychiatric hospitals, psych clinics, psychiatrist's offices and maybe more.

Also, a nurse can work with the Red Cross, military, schools and some other areas I can't think of right now. Speaking of schools, you can go on to get your Masters and become a nursing instructor too.

Re: Question about Nursing Field

I work for a medical device company. I'm not employed as a nurse, but I certainly needed nursing experience to get the job.

Re: Question about Nursing Field

also, research nursing, and case management/utilization review for insurance companies. if it weren't so late I could probably think of a few more!
