They have two options for ADN students. You can enter as an undergrade (basic option) which means you have to take 1 year of pre-reqs-36 units or the advanced option which is just 2 years-44 units of nursing classes. So it just depend on what pre-reqs you've accomplished. The pre-reqs are chem, anatomy, micro, physiology, general psych & lifespan psych, eng, speech, philosophy, and sociology. The 1st year of the basic option includes summer classes. Hope this helps. If you have anymore ?s, let me know. I just got accepted and start Jan!

Hi great post, im waiting to hear for the spring/09 decisions. I already got interviewed and passed the teas requirement (72 not anywhere near great). I called admissions and they said the letters will go out sometime in mid-September im just so anxious to know if I got accepted or not, I have a question for you, "I have a assosicates in general studies, have taken critical thinking but i dont have a philosophy class is there anyway they would accept me into the advanced option if all I need is 1 class? Is there a good chance I will have to take the basic option?, and lastly how good of a sign is it if you got a interview? thanks!!!!!

try REALLY hard not to go to a private school like st mary's. you'll go in debt up your wazoo! aim for a junior college, where you will save thousands and thousands of dollars.

The advanced route for ADN at Doheny campus for the Mount is about 26k. They are very generous helping out with financial aid and there are plenty of scholarships and grants you can apply for.

In comparison, I went to school for about $2,000... total. Do your homework before you commit to anything. It's not wise to go into debt, ESPECIALLY in today's economy. $26,000 is a lot of money for anything, but it's ridiculous for an ADN.

An ADN for $26,000 from a school with the excellent reputation that MSMC has is certainly better than sitting around waiting for acceptance at one of the community college programs and waiting and waiting. It also beats the costs of the for profit schools. One can be working to pay off this debt while someone else is still applying to programs that can't possibly admit all qualified applicants in a timely manner. The cc programs are desirable for their cost, but not everyone gets in. That is the problem with them.
