Please, Please, Please, Any Other Very Tall Nurses Out There?????
|
|
Hi all,
I really need some help because I am almost at my wits end. I am having a problem with probably one of the last things we think about in nursing: uniforms. I am a TALL nurse. I measure out at about 5 feet 11 inches barefoot and have anywhere from a 35-37 inch inseam in pants. Now, I have no problem buying scrub tops as my torso is a "normal" length but I absolutely, positively cannot find ANY scrub pants that are long enough. I just graduated and am starting my first job on Monday and I don't think a good first impression would be to walk in in my undies. I emailed Jascouniform.com and they told me their longest Tall sex inseam was 32...32? Isn't that a regular inseam? I even ordered scrub pants from a website that makes them especially for your measurements, got them in the mail today, and they were too huge and I need to roll them three times to keep them around my waist! Are there ANY TALL nurses out there that hear my pain and can by the grace of god bestow upon me the name of a brand or website that I can order tall scrubs (35-37 inseam) that will fit me?? I would GREATLY appreciate it and love you forever...
Thanks,
Andrea

Andrea,
I'm just a regularly sized nurse but I'm wondering if you could have someone make you some scrubs. They are easy to sew and you could have them sized appropriately to you.
Just a thought!

I don't have an answer for you but I feel your pain. I'm 6'1. For some reason though, I have a lot more trouble finding jeans that fit, than scrub bottoms..

Landau!! This brand of scrubs is great. I am 5'11'" and have a 34" inseam and their regular length fits me great ... there tall sizes are several inches too long (@ least 3). Landau will totally fit you, the only brand I buy and I have problems finding pants constantly!

Check the male nursing forum also, I remember a guy who was well over 6 feet saying he found tall scrubs, and Ithink they might have been unisex...
Good luck!
RealNurseWitch...I am 5'11" amd high waisted...I have two pairs of Old Navy jeans in their "tall" that are actually a bit long on me!

Cherokee!! They make Talls, and they are actually too long for me, a problem that I rarely have, as I also have a 35" inseam. I love them, because are slightly flared, and they have a little slit at the bottom so that they fit over shoes nicely. I have also tried Landau, and I find that they are not as comfortable, and they are also a little pricier. But I love my cherokees!! Good Luck!

Oh gosh! Thank you all for your replies! I actually went to the mall to the uniform store after I sobbed over my computer writing the initial thread (j/k) and found some that weren't to the floor but just went over my shoes. They are Dickies flared scrub pants. I heard a lot about Cherokee too so I think I am going to look into that, thank you all soo much for your help!!
