good point, i never thought of it that way. when i was in school i was always turning to a dictionary to get a word spelled corektly (just kidding! don't e-bash me). spell check has probably become a crutch for kids today the way that calculators became a crutch for a lot of us in comparison to our parents. anyway, sorry about the lack of caps, i get lazy that way on-line sometimes, but trust me i do know how to properly capitalize so please keep your comments on that subject to yourself! lol

As for the hobbies ... I skydive. I hope to do my first solo jump this summer. What an amazing rush!

Oh for Pete's sake...lighten up! If not spelling a word is the worst thing on you have ever done, well, you need to find a hobby besides looking for others mistakes!

Anywho...

My DH and I ride on his Harley, he skydives, we both scuba dive, we white water raft and we are introducing our 9 year old to that, and I show dogs...and that can be pretty risk taking in itself with all the big doggies showing who is the alpha LOL Nothing like a good snarling, snapping, hair ripping before you go in the ring LOL And that are the handlers LOL

Oh...one should never start a sentence with and, by the way! LOL

One should never start a sentence with the word "but" either. Looks like Wannabe may want to check into those refresher courses also.

I have already been accepted to nursing school, the 4 year BScN program. I'm happy for you for going back to school, but please don't pi$$ me because i'm doing it right out of highschool. thanx SR

I just though this would be a fun topic to get to know each other.
Oh Please!
I believe spelling and grammar are important in nursing or any other job for that matter, however...This is a message board on the internet for God's sake. Sure we answer each others important questions once in awhile, but for the biggest part it's just a bunch of nurses and others hangin around shootin the shi-.
And another thing... How terribly rude of you. I have made some posts here that really ticked off bunches of people but I have never (least not intentionally) insulted an individual! That's just inexcusable!

I am a webmaster and teach classes for such as a hobby.

Question

Just possibly an observation: anyone think that as nurses we seek out thrilling activities outside of work to mimic the rush of work? I know when I worked a very busy ortho floor I would try to pack in as much on my off days as I could so my day "flew" by....mimicing my work day? Crazy, huh?

And, oh! by the way.....Wannabe "you have been found ridiculous " Tisk Tisk for being so Witchy!

I'm just kind of giggling at the fact that one poster got in such an uproar about spelling. Seriously, it just happened on another thread today and I don't understand what in the world the big deal is? Man!

As for dangerous hobbies...well, there is chasing after balls in the street so that my kids don't run after them. LOL! I really have a very simple, boring life right now (that is, until school starts!) I have read of some skydivers on here though. Actually, quite a few of them here.

Thumbs up I Love Horses!

I'm not a nurse (I'm a CNA). I used to have horses years ago but can't afford them right now.

Were I able to, you bet I'd have them now!

Girlfriend, you keep on riding and jumping and make sure you continue to earn an income that will let you enjoy your hobby on your time off. I know horses are not cheap.

The most wonderful high in the world is riding atop a galloping horse!

Wow! What I wouldn't give to own a horse!

I used to ride horses with a couple of friends when I was in grade school and high school, but now the closest I get to horses is seeing them in parades. I would love to own/ride horses! Still Riding-you keep on riding and have a blast; I will envy you from cyberspace!
And good luck in your endeaver to become a nurse. Smart move to do it right out of high school; wish I had been that decisive at that age instead of getting married to get out of the house.
As for spelling, it's not everything. You will learn how to write good narratives in nursing school because you will be writing lots and lots of seemingly meaningless papers. As you said there is always spell check and the good old dictionary.
