Nurses roles in healthcare

Hello! I am new to the site, and i figured it would be a great way to start researching for my college application essays. Ive been asked how i view the role of nurses in healthcare. while i have some really good ideas as how to answer this question, i thought that asking nurses themselves would be helpful.

what i can say is that i see nursing as being the foundation of healthcare. provding patient care that reaches above and beyond medical care, and is an intimate and important relationship in helping someone heal. i also feel that if the nursing shortage worsens, it could compormise one of nursings most important roles which is this element of patient care.

can anyone offer anything in response to this? or maybe even pose some quiestions to get me thinking about it all in more depth?
Thanks!!!

Re: Nurses roles in healthcare

Welcome to all nurses!

You may want to put a search through google on this site...like for example: definition of nursing... I know we've milled over this question again and again. Fact there was a recent thread regarding this very topic!
